I think I just read my first steampunk?
I've seen differing categorizations for this novel, including science fiction and steampunk.
I've always been interested in steampunk novels, they seem to be the sorts of adventures that I like. They also seem to frequently be set in the Victorian age, which this isn't.
But it has advanced/magical technology, it's set in London, there are gangs and clockwork and machineries and strong women. Which sort of feels steampunk to me, the steampunk virgin.
Maybe I'll feel differently when I've read more definitively steampunk-categorized novels.
In any case, this novel made me laugh, and also had surprisingly sweet and tender bits.
So very, very much fun.
